Senior Adviser Facilities Management Provide facilities management subject matter expertise and specialist advice.
Engage with and instruct external service providers to deliver services to support MFAT's property and asset portfolio.
Liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders to provide technical assurance while supporting property and asset investment or replacement decisions.
Permanent position based in Wellington Head Office.

Advise MFAT by providing facility management subject matter expertise and speciality technical advice for all MFAT's properties and assets in NZ and overseas.

About the role
  • Kōrero mō te tūranga The Senior Adviser Facilities Management will support MFAT to manage and deliver efficient facility operations and maintenance procedures.

Key accountabilities include but are not limited to the following: Work with key stakeholders to help define, support and deliver programmes of work to improve the operation of our facilities.

Provide expert technical input into the development and implementation of asset replacement programmes and risk management initiatives.
Engage with MFAT staff and service providers to ensure the delivery of facilities management services meet MFAT requirements including quality, sustainability and cost.
Inform and support Asset Management planning processes by providing advice on best practice maintenance and asset replacement strategies in relation to key building services systems.
Responsiveness and an ability to prioritise competing reactive and planned maintenance activity.

The full salary range for this role is $104,670 to $141,612 total remuneration, inclusive of our 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution.We expect to appoint around the midpoint $123,141
  • give or take depending on your level of experience.

We'd like to hear from you if you are an experienced trade or technical professional, engineer (or equivalent experience) who can bring that experience to support building services improvements across our overseas property portfolio.

The Senior Adviser we are looking for will have the following skills and experience: A trade or engineering qualification with a deep understanding of building services operations.
10+ years' experience in a professional trade or technical role.
Previous facilities management is desired but not essential.
Ability to apply appropriate perspective and commercial understanding when providing building services and facility management advice.
Demonstrated experience of sharing technical knowledge and technical troubleshooting.
Knowledge of current sustainability practices including energy efficiency and waste management and how they apply in the public service.
Strong experience identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Understanding of The Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti, Te Reo Māori and Māori customs and protocols would be beneficial.
