Manaaki Tangata Team Member
Working closely with the Manaaki Tangata Lead, you will contribute to the smooth execution of school processes and events.
"Manaaki Tangata" translates to "care for the people" in te reo Maori, reflecting our commitment to fostering a welcoming environment where students, whanau (families), and staff feel valued, respected, and connected.
What You'll Do:- Foster a Welcoming Atmosphere: Create a warm and inclusive environment where all students, visitors, and staff feel welcome and valued.
- Collaborate with the Manaaki Tangata Lead: Provide essential support to the Manaaki Tangata Lead, assisting with school wide communications and processes.
- Support the Wider Team: Work collaboratively with the broader Manaaki Tangata team to achieve shared goals and objectives
- Student Support: Proactively respond to the needs of students including first aid
- Maintain Confidentiality: Handle student information with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.
- Relationship Builder: Ability to quickly establish rapport with diverse individuals. Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
- Positive Attitude: Self-motivated and proactive with a strong sense of initiative. Enthusiastic about contributing to a positive school culture.
- Team Player: Collaborative approach to working within a team environment. Willingness to support colleagues and adapt to changing needs.
- Dependability: Reliable, punctual, and committed to fulfilling responsibilities. Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Tech Savvy: Proficient in computer use, including managing online communications and website content.
- First Aid Certified: Holds a current first aid certificate or is willing to obtain one.
Cultural Competence: Understanding of and respect for te reo Maori and tikanga Maori. Commitment to embracing the cultural diversity of our school community.
Position Details:Type: Permanent, part-time position during school terms (school holidays are generally not worked).
Hours: 30 hours per week.
Typical Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM;Benefits:
