Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and proactive team member to support the Metalhartt team with day-to-day logistics and operational tasks. This role involves handling deliveries, pickups, dump runs, and general duties that help ensure projects are completed efficiently and on time.You will also play a key role in maintaining a tidy and organized factory floor, including tool and supply management. Company vehicle, phone, and uniform will be provided.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with daily logistics including deliveries, pickups, dump runs, and supply runs
- Follow instructions from management, lead roofers, and site foremen
- Maintain a strong awareness of Health & Safety protocols at all times
- Communicate clearly using the designated delivery chat (WhatsApp) to keep the team informed of movements and deliveries
- Support overall team productivity by prioritizing tasks efficiently and planning routes across Auckland to maximize time and fuel efficiency
- Maintain cleanliness and order in and around the factory, including stacking items, blowing leaves, and keeping shelves stocked
- Conduct stock takes and place monthly supply orders (e.g., to Bremick)
- Keep the factory floor clean and organized
- Stack items neatly and store tools/supplies appropriately
- Maintain stock levels and restock shelves as needed
- Clean and organize the outdoor area regularly
- Communicate proactively with the team regarding your schedule, especially when visiting suppliers or disposing of scrap
Skills / Qualifications / Experience:
Essential:
- Strong organizational skills – ability to manage multiple tasks, keep workspaces tidy, and prioritize
- Time management – proven ability to plan routes and complete tasks within designated timeframes
- Initiative and reliability – proactive in identifying what needs to be done without constant supervision.
- New Zealand driver’s license – Full / Clean License required
- Physical fitness and ability to lift/move materials and equipment as needed
- Familiarity with Auckland geography is beneficial for efficient route planning
- Roofing / Industry knowledge – Must Have
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a delivery, warehouse, factory assistant, or general labour role preferred
Hours:
This role and it’s duties can be fulfilled in a 40-45hrs week. Overtime hours only offered when asked by the management team to undertake certain jobs outside of our normal operating hours are Monday – Friday 7.30am to 4.30pm.
Training:
- Attend training as required
- Develop and maintain strong product knowledge of roofing materials + our suppliers
