**Mo tenei turanga mahi | The role**

This role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday based in Hamilton. We're open to discussing flexible start and finish times between 7am and 4:30pm.

As a Specialist Case Manager in Kirikiriroa improving living conditions alongside people experiencing homelessness will be your mahi. Reporting to your Team Leader, you'll use your health or social service background to provide manaakitanga to tangata whai ora, advocate, and promote tino rangatiratanga.

Guided by the Housing First approach, your focus is securing stable housing and connecting tangata whai ora with services for full social inclusion. You'll work with your team, tangata whai ora and landlords, create housing and support plans, and provide ongoing support to sustain tenancies.

You'll have a knack for connecting with people, a blend of street smarts and compassion, and an ability to link individuals to the right resources and services. You'll understand the system and know how to work it for the best outcomes, always aiming to improve the lives of those we support.

In addition, you'll have
  • Proven experience working in frontline health, mental health, addiction or social service sectors, and/or a relevant tertiary qualification
  • Basic understanding of Te Tiriti O Waitangi, Reo Maori and Tikanga, with the desire to learn, share and grow in this area
  • Experience engaging with Maori and Pasifika is highly valued
  • Good physical fitness
  • A current full and clean New Zealand driver's license
  • An understanding of the harm-reduction and Housing First approaches is advantageous, but not essential, as training will be provided.
