Medical Laboratory Technician
Christchurch - Canterbury Health Laboratories - Core Biochemistry
- Part time permanent position working afternoon shifts (4:00 pm ' 12:00 am) on a rotating pattern of 3 evenings on, followed by 6 days off.

About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician to join our Core Biochemistry team in Canterbury Health Laboratories (CHL). As part of our 24/7 service to both the hospital and wider community, we operate high'volume automated platforms alongside essential manual testing processes.Our team is driven by a shared goal'to provide the highest quality service in support of optimal patient care.
About you
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Efficiently separating and processing samples
- Operating automation track system and all associated analysers with opportunities to develop further skills
- Operating STAT instruments and performing manual chemistry tests
- Adhering to laboratory quality assurance standards and procedures
- Demonstrating a strong commitment to delivering an exceptional service to our clients
You will bring:
- Strong self'motivation and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and equipment
- Registration with the New Zealand Medical Science Council as a Medical Laboratory Technician (or eligibility for registration)
- Experience in biochemistry laboratory procedures (advantageous but not essential)
