Cellar Hand and Laboratory Technician

We have a new opportunity for a person who has experience in both the cellar and the lab. The role would be split approximately 60/40 cellar to lab duties. Being a hands-on role, you will participate in the day-to-day functions of all cellar & laboratory operations.

This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday which will change to shifts during our annual harvesting period. In this role you will report to the winemaker for your day-to-day responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Champion safe work practices, strive for continued improvement to enhance cellar & laboratory operations and efficiencies.
• Maintain product quality throughout all cellar and laboratory operations.
• Work effectively as an individual and as a team member.

The successful applicant will need:

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• A minimum of 2 years cellar/lab/winery experience throughout a calendar year
• Ability to independently operate winery machinery
• Ability to independently perform wet chemistry (TA, pH, SO2, enzymatic analysis)
• Ability to independently make and standardise winery laboratory solutions
• A reasonable level of fitness appropriate for the physical demands of the role
• Willingness to work flexible hours during peak periods
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas
• Follow SOPs and health & safety protocols
