The Mātanga Tapuhi NP role isintegral to providing an individual and population-based approach to meethealthcare needs.
This community-basedrole improves access to specialist assessment and coordinated treatmentinterventions for adult tangatawhaioraexperiencing moderate to severe mental health challenges.A key focus for thisrole will be leading intensive oversight during periods of increased need.
This requires a flexible approach, to provideconsultation, direct care and treatment, as well as support through clinicaladvice and education.
The advancedpractice role is integral to the provision and ongoing development ofhigh-quality tangatawhaiora care- that promotes optimal experience and equitable outcomes for tangata whaiora and their whānau.

About you You will bea registered Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with proven experience in mentalhealth settings and the ability to function autonomously in complexenvironments.
You will also bring:Nurse Practitioner registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ) with a prescribing endorsement in the mental health scope.Expertise in mental state assessment, differential diagnosis, psychopharmacology, and brief intervention models.Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equitable care, with demonstrated cultural safety and responsiveness.The ability to lead, coach and collaborate across disciplines and services.A strong personal commitment to clinical excellence, continuing professional development, and innovation.Or ifapplying for Nurse Practitioner Candidacy opportunity.We arelooking for a recognised advanced practice nurse that has a passion for ongoinglearning and the ability to adapt to work effectively with different learningexperiences.
You will need:Experience in Mental health nursing (minimum 3 years).Registered Nurse (RN) and a current practising certificate with no restrictions from the NCNZ.Expert level on the PDRP or Senior Expert pathway with at least three- four years relevant expertise and working at an advanced RN practice level.
A Clinical Masters or the postgraduate courses to meet the requirements to undertake the NP postgraduate practicum aligning to the national Nurse Practitioner.Training Programme (NPTP).
