Foundation Team Leader

About The Role:

We're looking for an experienced Foundations Team Leader to join our team and lead field crews delivering high-quality infrastructure and foundation works. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification while driving team performance and continuous improvement.

You'll work closely with supervisors and management to plan, scope, and deliver jobs, while maintaining strong compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

The Foundations Team Leader is responsible for leading and supervising field teams to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This includes planning, scoping, and coordinating jobs by effectively allocating labour, plant, and materials, while ensuring all work is accurately scoped, priced, and coded.
The role involves conducting audits, toolbox checks, and quality assurance activities, and ensuring all tools, plant, and equipment are compliant, tested, and fit for purpose. You will interpret technical drawings and specifications, monitor performance to meet targets and customer expectations, and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and day-to-day leadership to team members.

A strong focus on promoting health, safety, and environmental best practice is essential, along with completing all required reporting and documentation. The role also requires proactively identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities across work practices and processes.

About You
  • Completed grid skills competency training for Transpower
  • Current NZ Electrical Registration (EWRB) with practising licence

-Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience

-Proven experience leading teams in a field-based environment
  • Strong planning and organisational skills

-Solid understanding of industry standards and SM-EI requirements

-Ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement
