We are staffing agency called Selwyn People.
We are seeking an OUTSTANDING SUPERSTAR ASSISTANT MANAGER for our client in Rolleston. Opportunity to lead into a management role.
The purpose of this position is to:- Build strong and friendly relationships with customers.
- Assist in managing the operations effectively and efficiently. Take full responsibility of your area of responsibilities. This is rotated to increase your knowledge, skills and experience.
- Assist in planning and driving menu's.
- Assist in training and guiding staff.
- Agree and implement actions to continuously improve customer experience
- Review and communicate financial information to assist in proactive and timely decision making
- Assist in controlling costs without compromising standards and customer experience
- Seek and maximize revenue opportunities and minimize costs
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in and around premises area at all times.
- Delivery of company strategies
- To ensure all staff are well briefed on their responsibilities and are given constant supervision and motivation on all aspects of their work
- Strong ability to deal with customer concerns
- Assist in providing reports as required by manager.
- Observe all council and law requirements
Key skills and experience required:
- Contribute towards the values and the mission of the company
- Experience dealing with food safety would be very beneficial
- LCQ certificate and current valid Managers certificate
- First Aid certificate would be a bonus.
- Minimum 1 year management and hospitality experience.
- Strong clear communication.
- Leadership experience.
- NZ citizen or resident. Applicants on work permits may be considered.
- Great barista/Coffee making skills (training provided to right person).
- Knowledge of beer, wine and spirits will be beneficial as we are fully licensed.
- The ability to remain cool under pressure.
- Regular meetings with the Manager/owner
- Assist upper management as required.
- Have a sixth gear when we get slammed
- A commitment to high standards.
- Reliability is an absolute must.
- Flexibility to work varied rostered hours.
- High energy and strong work ethic.
- An enthusiastic and positive attitude
- Effectively juggle all tasks
