Duty Manager
New Plymouth
We are seeking an energetic, responsible, and passionate Duty Manager to join our team at our cool little wine bar located in the heart of New Plymouth. The ideal candidate will have a love for wine, great people skills, and a knack for leading a team to deliver exceptional hospitality experiences.
As Duty Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the bar, overseeing staff, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests.
Key Responsibilities- Help oversee the daily running of the wine bar, ensuring a high standard of service and customer satisfaction.
- Lead, motivate, and support the staff, fostering a positive team environment.
- Manage and resolve customer queries, feedback, or complaints in a professional and friendly manner.
- Ensure responsible service of alcohol and compliance with all relevant regulations and licensing requirements.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering and inventory management.
- Open and close the bar, including cash handling, reconciliation, and security procedures.
- Assist with creating and maintaining a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere in line with our brand and values.
- Support with staff training and onboarding, ensuring all team members are up to date with safety and operational standards.
- Coordinate with management on promotions, events, and marketing initiatives.
- Previous experience in hospitality, preferably in a bar, restaurant, or similar environment.
- Current Duty Manager Certificate (LCQ) or willingness to obtain.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Passion for wine and customer service; wine knowledge is a plus, but training can be provided.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to maintaining a safe and enjoyable workplace.
