Quantity Surveyor - Christchurch

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join our close-knit team. Working directly alongside the company owner and project manager, you'll play a key role in our operations while enjoying a collaborative, hands-on work environment where your contributions make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for commercial foundation projects
- Manage contract administration from pre-construction through to final account settlement
- Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and measurement of foundation works
- Monitor project costs and provide regular financial reporting
- Negotiate variations and claims with clients and subcontractors
- Work closely with the owner and project manager to ensure cost-effective project delivery
- Support business development activities and maintain strong client relationships
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, conditions, and industry standards
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, or relevant experience
- 3-5 years' experience in quantity surveying within New Zealand, preferably in civil works or foundations
- Strong knowledge of measurement principles and construction contracts (NZS 3910/3915 preferred)
- Proficiency in industry software including Excel, estimation software, and project management tools
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently in a small team environment
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites
