About the Role An exciting opportunity for a Health Care Assistant (HCA) has arisen to join our team on a casual basis.
If you like variety in your day and would enjoy working with an awesome team, we are keen to hear from you.We are looking for HCA(s) who are flexible and available to work on a casual basis covering both morning and afternoon shifts including weekends.
This role will involve 4 hour shifts and may be suitable for student nurses.The HCA is part of the unregulated health workforce, therefore will work under the direction and or delegation of a Registered Nurse (RN).
Our department can be busy and your role will be to support the nursing team and the department and to provide additional support to patients and whanau while they are in our clinic.
Key responsibilities will also include:- Assist patients with mobility and/or transfer to radiology
- Supporting patients and whanau under the direction of the RN About the Team/Service/ Location The Accident and Medical Clinic is a busy 24 hour Urgent Care Clinic situated at Kenepuru Hospital.
We provide care to those who require urgent medical treatment and are unable to see their own GP.
The team consists of Urgent Care Physicians and trainees, local GPs, receptionists, Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses.The department sees approximately 37,000 presentations per year from a wide range of ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
About you The ideal applicant would have the following: Have strong communication skillsBe enthusiastic, dynamic and forward thinking.
Committed to providing high quality care to patients and their whanauCurrent Nursing student or have a Health Care Assistant Level 3 NZQA National Certificate health and wellbeing or equivalent Have previous experience in a hospital or health care settingWorking at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
