Mechanic - Christchurch

We're looking for an experienced workshop mechanic to join our Paul Smith Earthmoving team based in Christchurch. This full-time role will see you working on a variety of heavy machinery and vehicles, ensuring they are well-maintained and operating at peak performance.

• Conducting inspections, diagnostics and servicing of excavators, rollers, trucks, trailers and other heavy machinery.
• Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues.
• Keeping detailed records of work performed.
• Liaising with the branch manager and project managers to provide progress updates.
• Ensuring a safe, clean and organised workshop environment.

• Several years' experience as a Workshop Mechanic, preferably in the automotive or heavy machinery industries.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent working knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
• Forklift licence and heavy vehicle experience would be advantageous.
