About the Role
As a physiotherapist working in the Community Physiotherapy team you will work with patients who have presented with a wide variety of conditions that require assessment for rehabilitation, equipment provision advice and education for long term self-management.
You will work closely with the other members of a multi-disciplinary team, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, dietetics, speech and language therapists and allied health assistants to support our patients and whanau with their safety and independence at home, building confidence in self-management, achieving their goals and optimising their quality of life .You will help develop strong links across the community teams and acute teams, building relationships with external agencies to ensure a high quality of service is provided to our patients and whanau.
Our patients are adults over 16 years old who often present with an array of conditions including but not limited to orthopaedic, neurological and general medical conditions. You will join an established team providing high quality assessments and interventions, through a patient-centred approach.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our community physiotherapy service has three main bases which are located within our Waitemata catchment area on the North Shore, Rodney and West Auckland. Whilst our clinicians/therapists work across boundaries to ensure equitable care delivery, the main home base for this role may be open to discussion for the right candidate.Staff are provided with a mobile phone and an iPad to support mobile working to be as efficient and effective as possible. We can offer flexibility around working hours and opportunity to work some hours from home once well-established within the team.

Waitemata is looking for an experienced Physiotherapist who is passionate about rehabilitation and care for those in need in our community and who is excited to work in the community setting. This is a great opportunity to be a part of our friendly and experienced Community Team.
New Zealand registered Physiotherapist
2+ years of clinical experience: recent experience within a general medicine/rehabilitation hospital setting, experience working with older frail adults, preferably experience working in the community settingHave strong clinical assessment and treatment skills with diverse physiotherapy knowledge
Ability to lead, support and mentor/supervise students
Work well across site, community physio and MDT teams and committed to delivering high quality and evidence based care to ensure a patient centred approach to their practice.Great communication and organisational skills
Experience with student supervision
Drivers licence
