Independent Living Charitable Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced Skilled Rehab Equipment Repair Technician to join our respected and growing team. If you're mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and service-driven, this is the role for you.

Skilled Rehab Equipment Repair Technician
Located in East Tamaki Auckland
Full-Time 40 hours
Competitive, based on experience
Starting July 2025
Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair faults in rehabilitation and mobility equipment, including powered wheelchairs, scooters, and hospital beds.
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance and safety inspections to ensure equipment reliability and compliance.
  • Install new equipment and deliver basic user training.
  • Maintain accurate service logs and inventory records.
  • Adhere to industry safety and compliance standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, carers, and healthcare providers.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in mechanical or electrical repairs (mobility or medical equipment preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to read technical manuals.
  • Comfortable with tools, diagnostics, and battery-powered systems.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Reliable, organised, and efficient time management.
  • Valid driver’s licence and clean record.
  • Able to lift and handle equipment
Bonus Skills (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of ADA, ISO or medical equipment compliance standards.
  • Certification in rehab equipment repair.
  • Basic IT skills to manage digital records and inventory systems.
