The role:
We are looking for an energetic and creative Activities Coordinator to join our Napier village. Ideally you will have experience in events, hospitality or aged care, but more important to us will be your genuine care of people from all walks of life.
You will plan and facilitate a variety of engaging activities and events for our residents, including special celebrations such as the Mid-Winter extravaganza, Oktoberfest and Chinese new Year (to name a few). Your role will ensure that residents receive exceptional support, managing the needs of vulnerable residents and maintaining effective communication with their families.With your creative flair, you'll bring celebrations to life by decorating and creating themed experiences around key calendar events. A good level of fitness will also be beneficial for delivering exercise programs, organising regular outings, and coordinating sporting and recreational events.
The hours for this role are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm however will need to be flexible around events.
About you:
- Positive “can-do” attitude that results in a harmonious relationship for staff and residents
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to convey an idea and inspire enthusiasm and interest
- A genuine interest in working with older people and a positive attitude to ageing
- Good written communication skills that target the audience and medium appropriately
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Computer literacy with using Microsoft Outlook (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
- Current first aid certificate
- LCQ qualification (or prepared to undertake training)
- A current driver license
