You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the workshop, managing workflow, meeting deadlines, and ensuring safety standards are followed. This hands-on role suits someone with strong organisational skills and leadership experience in a fabrication setting.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and mentor a team of welders and fabricators
  • Read and interpret technical drawings to ensure work meets specifications
  • Coordinate daily workloads, allocate tasks, and manage timelines
  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and productivity
  • Assist with hands-on welding and fabrication when needed
  • Provide training and feedback to team members
  • Keep QA records up to date for all jobs
  • Ensure health and safety protocols are followed
  • Monitor and manage workshop stock and materials
  • Liaise with the business owner to keep them updated on progress, issues, and priorities
What We're Looking For
  • Trade Certificate in fabrication/sheet metal
  • A proactive attitude with great communication skills
  • Leadership or supervisory experience in a fabrication or workshop setting
  • Competency in MIG and TIG welding and use of fabrication tools and machinery
  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings
  • Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
  • Full New Zealand driver's licence

Projects You'll Work On

We fabricate for high-end residential, architectural, and commercial metalwork projects across Queenstown and the wider region. You’ll be involved in a wide variety of jobs including kitchens, staircases, handrails, balustrades, and marine/automotive work.

Location and Hours

Our workshop is based in Queenstown. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, with optional weekend work available depending on workload.
