Range Officer: Real Guns Rifle Range - Queenstown

A Range Officer at Real Guns is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of our shooting range and ensuring our Clients have a fun and memorable experience.
To Succeed in this role candidates need to be able to demonstrate competency in the safe and proper use of various caliber firearms, MUST hold a current New Zealand Firearm's License (B-cat a bonus as we have a pistol range here), be client facing and comfortable working in fast paced environments.An eye for detail and strong observational skill are also a pre-requisite, as well as an ability to communicate respectfully with people of all nationalities and levels of firearm competency.
Key duties will include;- Enforce the Standing Range Orders and regulations, intervening promptly and effectively when violations occur.
- Ensure compliance with local, and national laws related to firearms and shooting ranges.
- Monitor the shooting range to ensure all safety protocols are followed by clients, shooting range members and staff.
- Provide safety briefings and instructions to range users before range activities begin.
- Assist shooters in the proper and safe handling and use of firearms when necessary.
- Inspect and maintain range facilities and equipment, ensuring all are in safe working order.
- Maintain accurate records of range usage including patronage, near misses and incidents, and maintenance activities.
- Support special events, training programs, and competitions held at the range.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Range Officer or supervisor as required.
You must maintain good grooming, have a personable disposition and be able to host and entertain clients in a safe yet fun manner.
We are a tight crew, and welcome anyone who has a old school work ethic. It can be a high pressure environment. The right applicant needs to have a cool head, be able to think on their feet and be a critical thinker.
