LDE is a forward-thinking and well-resourced engineering consulting company. We are seeking a Civil Engineer looking for an exciting and autonomous opportunity to help extend our client base and manage clients from engagement to engineering recommendations, designs of a specialist nature and budget management whilst tapping into our North Island wide resources.

This role will make you the go to person for technical enquiries, client enquiries, and projects for the Far North region, taking support from the Northland region team as needed. Through your work, you’ll also be an integral member of the national civil team.

You will have the tools and autonomy to make this role your own and genuinely contribute to your own future and LDE’s reputation.

You will have the confidence and capability to work autonomously while helping grow our footprint in the North and contributing to the success of civil teams across all of our offices. Working at LDE means you need to be a bit of a generalist at times so being open to crossing into the geotechnical space would be a bonus and looked on favourably.

Our Kerikeri office, located in the CBD, consists of a team of two who deliver engineering geology, geophysics and environmental services. It has a relaxed office vibe and plenty of room for a third team member. With current workflow and additional work in the pipeline, the Kerikeri office provides the ideal environment to hit the ground running and immediately contribute to our ongoing projects.

Work will involve civil design works, including but not limited to:

  • Small to large subdivisions
  • Roading and pavement design
  • Stormwater and wastewater management
  • Infrastructure inspections
  • Site monitoring
  • Simple structure design
  • Retaining wall and MSE wall design
  • Foundation design
  • Coastal revetments

The technical competencies essential to these positions are:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)
  • 4+ years of experience in New Zealand, including time spent in a consultancy
  • Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D modelling (potentially BIM)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
  • At least a restricted driver’s license.

Personal attributes required include:

  • Client-focused
  • Enthusiastic
  • Engineering confidence
  • Commercially aware.

The benefits of working at LDE are:

  • Exposure to a big range of projects nationally.
  • A family/friendly work environment.
  • An approachable team to share knowledge.
  • Paid for all hours worked.
  • Flexible working hours.

Applicants must be able to live and work in New Zealand indefinitely.

Is this your next career move?

If so, apply from this page with your letter of introduction and updated CV and our HR team will get in touch.

We are wanting to make an appointment as soon as possible so acting quickly is encouraged.
