Liquor Store Manager

We have a full-time opportunity (approximately 40-50 hours per week)

About the Role

This is a hands-on role where you will supervise staff, manage inventory, and drive sales targets.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring legal compliance as the manager on duty at all times alcohol is sold, prominently displaying your name, and working to reduce alcohol-related harm.
• Leading store operations, including inventory control, stock replenishment, ticketing, and cash management.
• Delivering outstanding customer service and fostering a positive shopping experience.
• Building innovative and appealing product displays and implementing marketing initiatives/promotions.
• Managing logistics, including receiving deliveries, making local pick-ups, and potentially deliveries.
• Maintaining store standards of presentation, cleanliness, and health and safety.
• Overseeing security controls (cash, keys, alarms, and stock).

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

• Proven retail liquor experience.
• Hold a current NZ Duty Manager's Certificate and the associated Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ).
• Permanent residency with NO restrictions is a requirement for this role.
• Strong customer service, organisation, and communication skills.
• High personal presentation standards, honesty, and an excellent work ethic.
• Physically fit and active, as stock handling, lifting (up to 25kg), carrying, and stacking are involved.
• A people person who enjoys interacting with customers and team members.

• An understanding of Microsoft Office.
