**He angitutanga / The opportunity:**

We are looking for an experienced **casual Kitchen Assistant** to work at an aged care site in Papatoetoe. The role would suit someone who enjoys working as part of a team, able to use own initiative and get the job done quickly and efficiently.

Hours of work will be on an as and when required basis.

**In this role you would be responsible for:**
  • Set up and serve breakfast each morning
  • Assist the chef with preparation of food and includes baking of morning tea
  • Provide excellent customer service skills
  • Ensuring kitchen and serving area is kept immaculate
  • Adhering to all cleaning rosters and food safety procedures at all times
  • General kitchen duties and dishwashing.
**The successful candidates will need to:**
  • Experience in a similar role including some baking experience
  • Demonstrate excellent and professional customer service
  • Ideally hold a food safety certificate (NZQA 167)
  • Be hardworking with good communication skills
  • Good English communication skills is essential
  • Physically fit and reliable
  • Be able to work independently and as a team player with a proactive 'can do' attitude
  • Have a safety focus and an awareness of health and safety practices and protocols
