We currently have a full-time permanent Health Care assistant vacancy at Victoria Care, Christchurch, for a Level 3/4 caregiver.
Immediate start
You will have a certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 3 or 4 (or equivalent), The hourly rate is $26.16 (Level 3) -$28.25 (Level 4), working a minimum of 30 hours per week.The ability to work any shift over a 24/7 roster is essential, however the shifts we are currently looking to fill morning shifts (7am- 3pm) Afternoon shifts(3pm-11pm). Weekend work is also a requirement.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Performing care and personal needs assistance as detailed in the care plan (in a cultural safe manner) and under the direction of a Registered Nurse Observing and reporting immediately to the Registered Nurse or senior any change in a resident's status or behaviour Ensuring the safety, privacy, and comfort of residents at all times Demonstrating care for others by understanding their needs and providing help and support Documenting care provided to residents objectively and in a timely manner
We provide a full orientation with ongoing training and support towards professional development. Requirements for consideration:
At least 6 months’ experience in caregiving, nursing or an equivalent Allied Health field is preferred A Level 3 or 4 caregiving or registered nursing qualification and medication competency are preferred A genuine commitment to make a positive difference to the lives of elderly people by caring for them with love and empathy A passion for working in the field of aged care Experience in dementia care would be an additional advantage.
