Administration / Secretarial Support
BMC Lawyers is a full-service law firm based in Porirua and Kapiti.
We are looking for a go-getter with a natural ability to multitask and to work to tight deadlines that can provide varied support to our Litigation Director and the Litigation Team based in Porirua.

Your duties will include:
- Acting as the first point of contact for the team, handling and responding to queries.
- Liaising with clients, court staff and other solicitors.
- Managing the team’s electronic diaries and email. Assisting our lawyers to prioritise daily tasks and coordinate clients in the office and at court.
- Assisting with legal aid applications and word processing.
- Managing administrative activities associated with a client file including opening, closing and archiving, the filing of documents and data entry.
- Photocopying, records management, organising material and assisting legal staff with all non-legal tasks.
- Assisting with the preparation of court documents.
No previous legal experience is necessary, our successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:
- Exceptional organisational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with the MS Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook. Dictation typing experience would be an advantage.
- A high degree of motivation and enthusiasm with a desire to succeed.
- The personality and willingness to work in a close team environment.
- High personal and professional standards based on the values of respect, quality and accountability.
