Paradise Vets is a well-established, locally owned veterinary practice proudly supporting farmers across the West Coast. Due to continued growth, we’re looking for a dedicated, practical, and detail-oriented person to join our friendly team of four Veterinarians and support staff. About the Role
This is a varied position with responsibilities that change throughout the farming season — combining on-farm support with clinic-based tasks. The role offers great diversity and the chance to learn new skills as part of a collaborative, supportive team.
You’ll work approximately 40 hours per week, including some early starts and late finishes (to fit around milking times and seasonal demands).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting vets with on-farm procedures and treatments
- Administering animal health treatments independently and in teams
- Recording and entering farm and clinic data accurately
- Providing front-line customer service and reception duties
- Preparing, packing, and invoicing orders
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and well-presented clinic
- Answering phones and assisting clients with enquiries
What We’re Looking For
You’ll bring one or more of the following:
- Experience in a veterinary clinic, farming, or animal handling environment
- Strong communication, time management, and organisational skills
- Confidence answering phones and interacting with clients
- Sound literacy and numeracy
- Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and priorities through the farming season
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Willingness (and ability) to start early or finish late when needed
- Qualifications in Agriculture, Veterinary Tech, or a related field
