About the role
Ward 15 is a general medical ward with 30 beds. We are looking for a Ward Clerk to join our team in Ward 15. Our clerical team provide a key role in the effective function of our ward. The work involves transaction of admissions, discharges, transfers and management of patient records.Working in the reception area you will be the first point of contact for patients, whanau, visitors and various hospital and health provider staff.

Our clerical team provide a key role in the effective function of our ward. The work involves transaction of admissions, discharges, transfers and management of patient records. Working in the reception area you will be the first point of contact for patients, whanau, visitors and various hospital and health provider staff.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing a welcoming and professional reception service for patients, visitors and staff
- Managing ward telephone enquiries and directing calls appropriately
- Accurate and timely data entry into patient and ward systems
- Processing and managing orders through Oracle ordering systems
- Providing general administrative support to Ward 15 clinical and support staff
- Maintaining organised records and ensuring documentation is up to date
- Assisting with coordination of ward resources and supplies
About You
You are calm under pressure, highly organised, and enjoy working in a busy healthcare environment where no two days are the same.
You will bring:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail
- Confidence using computer systems and learning new software (including Oracle)
- Professional telephone manner
- Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
- A supportive, team-focused attitude and willingness to help where needed
- Previous administrative or healthcare experience is an advantage
