Trained barbers/hairdresser - wanted!

We are looking for a talented Barber to deliver high quality technical work, creative flair and a world class client experience in our Ellerslie Store. We have full-time roles (35+ hours) available per week.

You can expect: $27–$30/hr + tips, uncapped bonuses, and a tool allowance.

The security of employment, with tax paid direct to the IRD.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role you will need to show a sound knowledge of trends and techniques, keen skills in barbering, retail sales and customer service.
You should be skilled and experienced in shaving, cutting/styling with scissor, razors and clippers, trimming, fades, shampoo & conditioning and able to confidently and competently engage with a diverse range of people.
Managing your work station, meeting hygiene and health and safety standards and being professional in verbal and body language are givens.

Our barbers provide world class experiences to our clients and we seek a barber who aspires to offer the same in an outstanding team of stylists.

Personal Skills:

You must be able to work independently and also be able to cooperate effectively within a team. Professionalism, trust, mutual respect and openness to feedback and opportunities to grow are essential to working with our high performing team. Attitude is everything and you should be responsive to requests and willing to engage in all the tasks the role requires.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

Applicants must have at least 3 years experience in barbering or hairdressing. Ideal candidates will have barbering qualifications or achievement in competencies, but this is not required if you have the right skills and experience. You must have good literacy and numeracy skills for this role, and preferably have retail experience and competent customer service skills from prior customer facing roles.

Training and Upskilling:

You should be willing to increase the depth and breadth of capability through formal and informal training, development and upskilling programmes on the job. Our team members support their colleagues to develop in the role and you should be willing to do the same when requested.
