**Te** **kowhiringa | The Opportunity**
In this pivotal role, you will partner with the Head of Finance and Senior Finance Business Partners to align financial operations with strategic business goals for Transport & Infrastructure New Zealand. You'll play a critical part in delivering accurate, high-quality financial services - from month-end reporting and budgeting to project performance analysis and process improvement initiatives.
**Key Responsibilities**- Deliver strategic commercial advice and financial analysis to support operational decisions
- Lead project and general accounting activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and WIP management
- Ensure robust month-end processes, accruals, reconciliations, and reporting
- Project accounting: project creation. management, valuation, closing
- Oversee audit, compliance, tax, and treasury functions
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation across finance systems and processes
- Support and develop a high-performance finance team through effective leadership and coaching
- 7+ years of experience in a senior finance role
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting or related field
- CA/CPA qualified
- Experience in project accounting(advantageous)
- Proven leadership skills with a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset
- Strong technical accounting, budgeting, and project finance skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Ability to manage complexity and drive performance in a fast-paced environment
