About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga Do you have a passion for working with data and an interest in growing your data extraction, reporting and analysis skills?

The Analyst role supports the work of the Ministry of Education's Te Mahau regional teams by analysing and interpreting data, network trends and achievement information to inform and support internal and external work programmes. The Analyst provides information, guidance and analytical support to relevant internal staff to support their work with the sector including responding to requests for information and preparing written communications, working papers, reports and presentations.

This is a fixed term, full-time role through to October 2025 to provide Parental Leave cover. This position can be based at either our Rotorua or Tauranga Office, offering a fantastic lifestyle and work-life balance opportunity in one of New Zealand's stunning and diverse outdoor regions.
Applicants who live in the surrounding Bay of Plenty areas and are willing to commute may also be interested in this role. Salary range: $74,015-$89,547 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About our group and team | Mātau rōpū ake Te Mahau | Te Tai Whenua (Central) is a frontline group that collectively provides leadership and integrated services to the sector and others. This includes services such as learning support and education advice, and regulation functions for kōhanga, schools, kura and early learning services.As a frontline group we develop and harness existing relationships with communities at the regional and local level, including deep relationships with iwi and hapū.We also collectively strengthen relationships with our diverse communities who support Māori, Pacific peoples, disabled ākonga and/or ākonga with learning support needs, and ākonga from disadvantaged backgrounds.
