About the Company
Our client is a well-established roofing and cladding specialist delivering high-quality installations across the Southland. They are committed to safe work practices, strong craftsmanship, and long-term project excellence. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Roofing Foreman to lead onsite teams and ensure projects are delivered to a high standard.
The Role
As the Roofing Foreman, you will oversee day-to-day site operations, coordinate installation teams, and ensure all roofing and cladding work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with strong technical knowledge and proven experience supervising roofing crews.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise roofing and cladding installation teams
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety procedures, including PPE compliance and site housekeeping
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Assess site conditions and confirm suitability for roofing and cladding systems
- Accurately measure, cut, and install materials as required
- Oversee layout accuracy and quality control
- Perform and supervise repairs and maintenance work
- Ensure all work follows manufacturer guidelines and industry best practice
- Complete daily timesheets and support project reporting
- Communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, and team members
- Minimum three years' experience in roofing, cladding, or a closely related trade
- Previous leadership or foreman experience is highly advantageous
- Relevant trade qualification (NZQF Level 4 or equivalent) preferred
- Strong commitment to safe work practices
- Confident working at heights and in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lead a team while also working independently
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- High level of workmanship and attention to detail
- Competitive hourly rate ($30-$40 per hour depending on experience)
