About the Company

Our client is a well-established roofing and cladding specialist delivering high-quality installations across the Southland. They are committed to safe work practices, strong craftsmanship, and long-term project excellence. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Roofing Foreman to lead onsite teams and ensure projects are delivered to a high standard.

The Role

As the Roofing Foreman, you will oversee day-to-day site operations, coordinate installation teams, and ensure all roofing and cladding work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with strong technical knowledge and proven experience supervising roofing crews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise roofing and cladding installation teams
  • Ensure strict adherence to health and safety procedures, including PPE compliance and site housekeeping
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Assess site conditions and confirm suitability for roofing and cladding systems
  • Accurately measure, cut, and install materials as required
  • Oversee layout accuracy and quality control
  • Perform and supervise repairs and maintenance work
  • Ensure all work follows manufacturer guidelines and industry best practice
  • Complete daily timesheets and support project reporting
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, and team members
Skills & Experience Required
  • Minimum three years' experience in roofing, cladding, or a closely related trade
  • Previous leadership or foreman experience is highly advantageous
  • Relevant trade qualification (NZQF Level 4 or equivalent) preferred
  • Strong commitment to safe work practices
  • Confident working at heights and in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lead a team while also working independently
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • High level of workmanship and attention to detail
