Job Title: Café/Restaurant Manager

Hourly Rate: $24.50 to $31.50 per hour (based on experience and skills)
Job Description:

The Café Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the café. This includes managing both front and back-of-house staff and overseeing daily operations. The manager is also tasked with maintaining high standards of customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Manage day-to-day operations of the café.
  2. Hire and onboard new wait staff, baristas, and kitchen hands.
  3. Train employees on drink preparation, customer service, and proper use of coffee equipment.
  4. Ensure all staff are aware of their obligations regarding the sale and supply of alcohol.
  5. Advise staff on resolving customer issues and delivering excellent customer service.
  6. Check and record hours worked by all staff.
  7. Coordinate with vendors and order supplies as needed.
  8. Establish and maintain filing systems for invoices and supplier statements.
  9. Discuss, prepare, and price menus with chefs.
  10. Communicate relevant information about operations and staff performance to the owner promptly.
  11. Record and manage all necessary areas for effective daily operations.
  12. Select, train, and supervise all staff members.
  13. Prepare and administer staff rosters (including kitchen staff) and payroll.
  14. Handle cash throughout the shift and perform end-of-day cash reconciliation.
  15. Manage social media relations and respond to customer queries, complaints, group bookings, and reservations.
  16. Organize special functions or events as required.
  17. Minimize waste and breakages.
  18. Ensure front-of-house and kitchen staff maintain good personal hygiene and professional standards.
  19. Maintain a close and professional working relationship with the kitchen at all times.
  20. Foster friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost reputation.

  • Ability to pass a drug test and Ministry of Justice check if required.
