About the role
This 35 hour per week social worker role at Sexual Abuse Support and Healing (SASH) in Nelson is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in your community. As a Social Worker at SASH, you will provide therapeutic support to individuals and their families affected by sexual abuse, helping them on their journey towards healing and recovery.The role is based in our Nelson office with our Nelson team.

What you'll be doing- Provide therapeutic sessions to clients and whanau, using a trauma-informed, strength-based approach
- Assessments and development of personalised support plans with clients
- Clients with other community resources and services as needed, advocating on their behalf
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to ensure holistic care for clients
- Maintain detailed client records and contribute to the organisation's ongoing evaluation and reporting
- A qualification in social work, or a qualification or experience in a related field
- Registration with the Social Workers Registration Board and a current practicing certificate where appropriate
- Experience working with individuals and families affected by trauma or abuse
- Excellent theraputic and case management skills, with a trauma-informed and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team
- Knowledge of community resources and services available to support clients
- Commitment to continuous professional development and a desire to make a positive difference
