Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic / Service Technician

Brookby Quarries Limited is one of Auckland’s prime manufacturing quarries and we have a new opportunity for an experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic / Service Technician to join our hard-working, enthusiastic team based at our quarry located in Brookby.

This position is for a full-time person who has proven experience working with Mining/Quarry machinery. Must have a keen eye for detail, self-motivated, organised. The successful applicant will be working within a team who oversee the day-to-day maintenance & operations of quarry machinery & equipment (excavators, trucks, loaders, crushing machinery).

Main tasks of this role: -
  • Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy diesel engines and hydraulic systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all machinery to ensure optimal performance
  • Ability to keep and maintain detailed records of services and repairs performed using a CMMS (MEX) Software
  • Identify and request parts as required
  • Adhere to safety standards and procedures at all times
To be successful in this role you will possess the following qualifications, skills & experience: -
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand
  • Minimum of 3 years experience
  • Proven experience working with mining/quarry machinery
  • Experience with Komatsu machinery preferred but not essential
  • Ability to read & interpret technical manuals
  • Reliable with good time management
  • Pride in quality workmanship
  • A positive can-do attitude with an eye for detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Is physically fit and able to manually handle items/parts.
  • Demonstrates initiative
  • A team player while also being able to work independently
