About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Mental Health Professional to join our Tauranga-based Adolescent Mental Health team on a 7-month fixed-term contract. This is a Casual role, working as and when required.

You will work closely with rangatahi and their whanau, delivering therapeutic interventions and support in homes, schools, community settings, and our Tauranga city-based office. Ideally, you will have experience in working with eating disorders, as this role currently works predominantly within the eating disorder pathway.

Our team is grounded in whanau-centred and community-centred approach that prioritises empowerment, learning, and meaningful relationships.

This role offers the opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering essential services to young people and whanau across the region, the ongoing support, learning opportunities, and professional development.

About the Team/Service/Location

Our Tauranga Adolescent Mental Health Service is part of the wider Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in the beautiful Bay of Plenty. The team is made up of 26 professionals including nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, psychiatrists, psychologists, and administrative support.

Based in Tauranga a thriving city with golden beaches and a relaxed lifestyle, the service offers a collaborative and nurturing work culture with a strong commitment to professional development and student placements.

About You

To be successful in the role, you are a mental health professional who is passionate about supporting the youth and whanau. You thrive in a dynamic, team-based environment and bring a flexible, responsive approach to your work in both clinical and community settings.

What you will bring:

Current Annual Practicing Certificate and NZ registration in your relevant profession (Registered Nurse, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist)
At least 2 years experience in a mental health setting
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
A strong commitment to youth-focused, whanau-inclusive practice

A full NZ drivers licence
