THE GIG:

Our client is a specialist civil construction and maintenance company involved in road maintenance and construction, commercial and residential developments, drainage, civil construction of structures including bridges, retaining walls and underpass installation, and many other general contracting activities.

Being based in Cromwell but with work around the greater Central Otago Region, they have a full forward workload and offer a great working environment, plus opportunities to upskill and develop your career for the future .

In this key role you'll be responsible for forward planning, programming, and organising your people and plant to ensure projects are completed in an efficient and safe manner. You'll also lead or work on tender submissions and quotations. With a focus on quality, you will also be responsible for delivering the high standard of customer service that our Client is known for.

You will be assisting the Divisional Manager in the management and delivery of projects across Central Otago and Southland.

You will be confident in carrying out Management of Works and Contracts including:

  • Preparing job programmes and instructions
  • Setting and communicating production targets
  • Preparing Contract Quality Plans
  • Preparing and administrating subcontract agreements.

YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Be tidy, energetic and enthusiastic, with excellent communication skills
  • Trade or Tertiary Qualification in Engineering
  • Have excellent time management skills
  • Have a proven track record, including previous construction management experience
  • Have a clean, valid drivers licence
  • Ability to relate to shareholders and stakeholders on a variety of levels.
