About the role
This is a full-time role based in Hamilton Central Waikato, offering the exciting opportunity to be part of the Classic Car Restoration team at Gas Pedal Fabrication Limited. This position is vital in supporting the company's mission to preserve and revive classic automobiles to their former glory.
What you'll be doing
Carefully disassemble, inspect, and document the condition of classic cars
Perform comprehensive restoration work including body repairs, mechanical overhauls, and interior refurbishment
Source and fit authentic replacement parts to maintain the original integrity of the vehicles
Apply high-quality paint finishes and detailing to restore the vehicles' showroom condition
Work closely with the team to ensure all restoration projects are completed to the highest standards
Provide exceptional customer service and liaise with clients throughout the restoration process
What we're looking for
Proven experience in classic car restoration, with a strong understanding of automotive mechanics, bodywork, and paint finishing techniques
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with precision to restore vehicles to their original condition
Proficient in the use of a range of hand tools, power tools, and specialist equipment required for classic car restoration
A passion for classic cars and a commitment to preserving automotive history
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
A valid driver's licence and the ability to operate a range of classic and modern vehicles
