Professional Excavation is a local civil construction business based in New Plymouth, with an expanding reputation and team. We carry out a wide variety of civil construction works including earthworks, hydro-excavation, roading, subdivision work and concrete for businesses and councils Taranaki-wide.

Due to current growth and an increased workload, we have an exciting opportunity for a competent Hydrovac operator to join our team. This position within our team is for a person who is motivated, self-led, understands opportunities and can lead others.

You’ll need an understanding of civil construction projects and how to get them done.

We complete a wide range of civil projects, including excavation, site preparation, subdivisions, roading, commercial pavements and surfacing with chipseal, asphalt and concrete for leading Taranaki businesses and councils.

Job Description:

Hydrovac Operator- To be successful in this position you will need to have proven experience in the New Zealand construction industry with a fit and healthy lifestyle to match the culture of our business.

Skills and attributes we need from you:

  • Minimum Class 4 licence with a minimum of 2 year's truck driving experience
  • Experience operating vacuum trucks would be advantageous
  • Mechanical aptitude and high priority towards taking care of your truck and an excellent attitude toward the maintenance and care of machinery
  • Reliable and passionate to support the team, with a solution focused attitude.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A good level of physical fitness due to the physical nature of the role.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment and ongoing drug and medical screen
  • Wheels, tracks, rollers WTR endorsements desirable.
  • First Aid certificate is desirable
  • Lean thinker
