Support patient recovery and independence across acute and rehabilitation care pathways

About the Role

Join our Occupational Therapy team and make a meaningful impact on patient wellbeing and recovery. This varied role supports patients experiencing a wide range of health conditions, including traumatic brain injury, stroke, frailty, and general medical presentations.

Working primarily within acute inpatient wards, you will assist with rehabilitation and recovery programmes while developing a broad range of skills across allied health disciplines, with future opportunities to contribute to community based services.

About the Team/Service/Location

You will work alongside Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants, and Clinical Leads within a collaborative and supportive environment focused on delivering high quality patient care. The team is committed to professional development, knowledge sharing, and building transdisciplinary skills that enhance patient outcomes across the continuum of care.

Based at Tauranga Hospital, you will be part of a wider Allied Health service dedicated to supporting recovery, independence, and wellbeing.

About You

You are an individual who brings compassion, initiative, and a desire to make a meaningful impact every day. You will thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting and are eager to grow your skillset in critical care.

What you will bring:

Experience as a Health Care or Allied Health Assistant (acute hospital setting, with rehabilitation experience preferred)
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and support a range of allied health interventions
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Flexibility to work varying shift patterns in response to service needs
Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
Strong cultural awareness and commitment to equitable healthcare
