This role requires you to greet staff in Methven and transport them safely, friendly, and informatively to and from our ski area. You will also shuttle guests and their gear around our car parks and assist the Roads Department with their daily duties.
This is a varied and autonomous role suited to anyone who enjoys interacting with guests and holds the relevant licenses.
About the Role- Transport staff between Methven and Mt Hutt daily, and shuttle guests from lower car parks to the base area and back
- Drive with fuel efficiency and guest comfort in mind
- Practice safe and courteous driving at all times
- Load skis and snowboards onto racks securely for guests
- Adhere to schedules and timetables
- Assist with bus loading as needed
- Respond to weather and road conditions appropriately
- Provide friendly and engaging service to Mt Hutt guests
- Efficiently fit and remove snow chains, and store them correctly
- Manage customer complaints and queries professionally
- Maintain clear and timely radio communication
- Perform bus start-up checks each morning
- Assist with car parking, road patrolling, snow gritting/clearing, and helping guests with snow chains
- Support other departments, such as Food and Beverage, as required
- Exceed guest expectations with personable hosting and professional driving
- Maintain a reasonable level of fitness, as the role can be physically demanding
- Be willing to assist in other departments and take on additional duties
- Understand that employment depends on weather conditions and hours cannot be guaranteed
- Valid NZ driver's license, class 2 license, and P endorsement (must be obtained before starting)
- Experience driving light vehicles, loaders, and trucks on snow and ice is advantageous
