Our mission is to bring the true flavours of Fiji Indian curries and sweets to the Canterbury region through restaurant dining and event catering.
Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Fiji Indian Cook who has the skills to prepare and cook authentic curries and sweets on a large scale. The successful candidate will be responsible for event catering, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring consistency in authentic Fiji Indian flavours.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, cook, and present a wide range of Fiji Indian curries and sweets in large volumes.
Plan and manage food preparation for functions, weddings, birthdays, and large gatherings.
Ensure the quality, taste, and authenticity of dishes remain consistent.
Monitor stock levels and assist in kitchen organisation.
Maintain kitchen hygiene and comply with NZ food safety standards.
Supervise and train junior staff when required.
Skills & Experience Required
Minimum 2 years of experience cooking Fiji Indian curries and sweets at a large scale (functions, weddings, catering events).
Strong knowledge of Fiji Indian spices, ingredients, and preparation methods.
Ability to manage high-volume cooking while maintaining quality.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Reliability, efficiency, and attention to detail under pressure.
