Stand up and lead a new team focusing on undertaking routine condition surveysDrive innovation and best practice across three waters infrastructureLocated in Petone, WellingtonThis is a full-time position for 40 hours per week, the remuneration range for this role is $108,644 to $153,379 (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience.The opportunityThis is a new opportunity to build and lead Wellington Water's approach to routine condition assessment survey practice from the ground up.
As the organisation's technical authority in this space, you'll develop the survey practices, methodologies, and technologies used in order to gather asset and condition information in the field Working with key stakeholders across the organisation, you'll ensure collection of accurate, consistent asset data to underpin investment and reliability choices we make.In this role, you will:Design, lead, and coordinate delivery of a region-wide 0-3 year routine condition assessment programmeDefine best-practice methodologies and grading approaches for network assetsBuild, lead and develop a small team of technical specialists, fostering collaboration and performanceStay at the forefront of emerging tools and technologies to improve efficiency and accuracyBuild strong relationships across teams and with external partners to align strategy and deliveryAbout youTo be successful in this role you will bring:A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering or a related disciplineSignificant experience in asset condition assessment and data interpretationStrong leadership and mentoring skills, with experience guiding technical professionalsConfidence in introducing new tools, technologies, and process improvementsExcellent communication and relationship-building skills across technical and operational teamsBenefitsAt Wellington Water, our purpose extends beyond delivering great water services for the region; we foster a thriving community, support a diverse workforce, and offer supportive development opportunities.
