Foreman Engineer

We’re on the lookout for a capable and motivated Foreman Engineer to join The Engineering Co team.This is a hands-on role - supporting our Managing Director, leading the crew while staying active on the tools yourself.
You’ll be welding, fabricating, and repairing machinery, with some job coordination and team leadership involved, minimal desk work.
**About the Role:**
Oversee day-to-day workshop operations, alongside our Managing Director.
Lead, support, and manage a team of engineers and apprentices.
Coordinate jobs, ensuring they are delivered on time, to spec, and to a high standard.
Maintain quality control, health & safety standards, and efficient workflows.
Liaise with customers and suppliers as required.
Stay involved in the tools - this is not a desk-based role.
**About You:**
Proven engineering/welding/fabrication skills with at least 5 years’ experience post trade cert.
Previous leadership or foreman experience a must.
Confident managing a team and coordinating multiple jobs.
Practical problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
Strong communicator, customer-focused, and reliable.
Current driver’s licence (HT or forklift license a bonus).

We are also seeking Expressions of Interest for a Field Service Engineer role. This position offers a mix of workshop and onsite work, supporting our customers with repairs, maintenance, and modifications across a range of heavy machinery.
To be the right fit for this role, you must have experience working onsite with forestry equipment - including troubleshooting, welding, fabrication, and mechanical repairs in the field. Reliability, practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently are essential.
