Chic Restaurant & Bar is a well-established, family-owned hospitality business operating successfully in Christchurch for over 20 years. We are seeking an experienced and reliable Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our busy venue.
Our restaurant operates from 4:00 PM onwards, so this role requires afternoon, evening, late-night, and weekend availability. This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone confident in running a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant and bar
Lead, train, and supervise front-of-house staff
Manage rosters, staffing levels, and staff performance
Handle customer service and complaint resolution professionally
Ensure full compliance with NZ licensing and food safety regulations
Stock control, ordering, and supplier coordination
Cash handling, end-of-day reporting, and basic administration
Maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and presentation
What We’re Looking For:
Current NZ Duty Manager Certificate – ESSENTIAL
Proven management experience in a restaurant or bar
Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills
Excellent customer service and problem-solving ability
Ability to manage busy services and large teams
Reliable, honest, and highly organised
Must be available for evenings and weekends
