The purpose of this role is to optimise the training environment for the Waitemata prevocational house officers through education, training and support to achieve MCNZ accreditation requirements. This includes facilitating, evaluating and developing the education programmes, providing pastoral and professional support to prevocational house officers, and providing near-peer liaison between the house officers and the medical education and clinical leadership teams.The role reports to the Manager of the Medical Education and Training Unit (METU) with the Director of Clinical Training, and works with the METU team and Associate Director of Clinical Training.
The Fellow and the team work closely with the wider metro Auckland clinical and prevocational team at both Te Toka Tumai and Counties Manukau.The role is a 12-month fixed term position (commencing in January 2027) aligning with the clinical training year.In this position you will have the opportunity to participate, and potentially lead, in:Medical education and teachingAdvocacy and mentoring of prevocational traineesProject work, change management and quality improvementResearch projects inc.
