Down with Dogs is an outdoor dog daycare that provides care, structure, training and fun for dogs on week days. Dogs are collected from their houses, in custom vans and transported to our 70 acre farm in Makara. Dogs spend 3.5 hours here, where the dogs play, socialise walk and chill.

We are after 1 full time person (between 30 and 35 hours per week), to work on a Monday Tuesday Wednesday and ThursdayYou will need to have a full driver's license. Knowing how to drive manual is essential.
The work hours will be between 7am - 4pmWe do not work public holidays and have 2 weeks off over Christmas and New Years.
Phone and transport will provided
Experience with dogs is not necessary but a love of dogs the outdoors and a willingness to learn is essentialThe ideal person will
- Collect dogs from their houses from their houses and transport them to the property in Makara
- Supervise a pack of dogs in a fully fenced yard with 3 - 4 other handlers
- Teach and practice basic obedience to each dog
- Walk a pack of dogs on lead and off the lead on a hilly 4km walk
- Pick up dog poo, and help with general tasks in the yard
- Rinse and dry dogs off
- Drop dogs home
- Create good relationships based on respect with the dogs and co workers
- keep work van clean and tidy
- have a basic understanding of dog behaviour and of dog breeds
- be calm and positive (the way we are rubs off on the dogs!)
- have good communication and listening skills
- have common sense and initiative
- have a good memory (you will need to remember each dogs address and collection details)
- be willing to learn and be open minded
- not be afraid of the rain, wind, cold and mud!
- be passionate about dogs
- be fit! we walk up a big hill every day, you will be on your feet for 3.5 hours and will be walking up lots of stairs and driveways collecting and dropping off dogs
- have a clean full drivers license and be able to drive a manual van
- have a good attitude
