Food, technology and art technican
Nelson College for Girls is seeking a reliable and well organised Food, Technology and Art Technician to support our teaching and learning programmes across Food and Life Studies, Art and Materials Technology. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, hands on work, keeps on top of the details and can work independently in a busy school environment.
This role is permanent part-time at 14 hours per week. These hours are worked during term time only, with specific days and times outlined in the job description and open to discussion with the successful applicant.
The technician plays a key role in supporting smooth and safe classroom delivery. Tasks include preparing ingredients and equipment for food classes, maintaining stock and ordering supplies, assisting with basic preparation work, supporting material and equipment setup for Art and Materials Technology programmes, and carrying out regular cleaning, maintenance and organisation of teaching spaces and tools.The role requires accuracy, initiative and an ability to keep systems running efficiently.
We are looking for someone who is proactive, adaptable and confident working across multiple learning areas. Good communication skills, a practical mindset and the ability to follow processes are essential. Prior experience in a school, kitchen, workshop or similar environment would be an advantage.
