Forklift Operator
An opportunity has become available at Charter Transport for an enthusiastic, reliable and experienced forklift operator to join our yard/warehousing team.
This full-time position is based at our Wigram site in Christchurch.
Duties will include:- Loading and unloading heavy vehicles with various different forklifts
- All facets of warehouse and yard storage facilitation, container handling and devanning
- Picking and packing orders
- Manual handling and general yard duties
Applicants need to be a competent forklift operator with proven logistics experience, have a Class 1 NZ Driver Licence, F Endorsement and NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit.
The successful applicant will have the following attributes:- Be physically fit
- Be health and safety conscious and adhere to safety rules
- Have a positive attitude and the ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Good people and communication skills
- Maintain professionalism and a high standard of work ethic
- Able to learn electronic/technology systems
- Pass a medical assessment, drug screen and history vetting
Days of work are typically Monday – Friday each week, however, there will be regular weekend work when the volumes dictate.
Full uniform and protective gear will be supplied.
Company specific training will be given but as mentioned above, we are looking for an experienced operator.
