This is a leadership role in our regional health protection team and National Public Health Service. The primary purpose of the role is to lead and drive the regional Health Protection Team's Communicable Disease programme of work to enable the realisation of Pae Ora.The role holds responsibility for delivering the programme of work through designing and establishing regional ways of working, including a networked approach between the regions and with national teams across NPHS and Health New Zealand. This role also has a requirement for regular travel across the region.About the ServiceThe National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.

You are experienced in developing and implementing effective health programmes and have strong project management expertise.You are someone able to respectfully lead teams through change. You also bring with you, an ability to work collaboratively with others and to maximise the contributions of individuals and teams to achieve results.Skills and ExperienceA relevant tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in actionDemonstrable understanding of Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022, and how to give effect in a meaningful way5+ years programme, or project development experienceDemonstrable experience in developing innovative ways of working and leading through others to achieving thisExperience in leading change and/or service and quality improvement initiativesClean full NZ Driver LicenceWillingness to travel across the regionWorking for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
