Vehicle Spray Painter / Prepper

August Panel & Spray Ltd is still growing and looking for more staff. We have been in operation in Petone for more than 31 years specialising in all types of repairs including high quality vehicles, insurance claims, commercial and structural repairs.

We moved to our new premises 8 years ago and aim to be the biggest and best panel shop in the Wellington region. Our new premises contain the latest state-of-the-art equipment, and we aim to be the biggest and best panel shop in the Wellington region.

To be successful in this position you will need the following attributes.

• Prepares surfaces of vehicles for painting by cleaning, sanding and masking
• Matches and mixes paint colours to vehicle specifications
• Applies paint to vehicles using spray guns ensuring paint coverage is even and smooth
• Applies clear coat and other protective finishes to vehicles
• Inspects painted vehicles for quality and makes any necessary touch-ups or repairs

• Excellent communication skills both written and oral;
• Ability to work without supervision and follow instructions;
• An eye for detail and the ability to produce high quality work.
• Work well in a team environment;
• Have a full licence with a clean driving record;
• Good presentation
• Be competent in all aspects of spray-painting techniques
• Be able to work efficiently and produce high quality work

Wage range $25-$35.00 based on experience and skills which we will discuss during the interview.
