Class 5 Delivery Driver

Join our committed distribution team, who take great pride in their vehicles, our plants and their strong customer focus. This position is for driving our XF DAF truck and trailer premium unit delivering plants to our retail and commercial customers across the South Island and requiring regular overnight stops.

We seek applicants who will bring enthusiasm, willingness to learn, strong interpersonal skills and natural aptitude for safe and efficient driving. YOu must have fitness for manual loading. There will be a driving test at interview stage.

• Minimum 2-year experience driving Class 5
• Experience delivering goods to the retail sector with multiple deliveries on route
• Physical fitness – our drivers can manually unload and deliver up to 42 racks weighing up to 500kg each, per day!
• Excellent communication – a high competency of spoken English is essential as you are the face of Zealandia, talking directly with our customers!
• Clean driving record with appropriate licences
• Pride in equipment and desire to maintain a high standard
• Able to work some overnights driving South Island routes and extended hours during busy season (September to February). You will be compensated for overnight stays
• Two references from previous Class 5 truck driving roles
• Must pass a drug and alcohol test pre-employment and be open to random post-employment testing
• Must have a clean criminal record
• Our roster is 5 days a week from April to August and 6 days (a Saturday) a week from September to March. You must be able to meet these requirements.

We are seeking an industry established C5 driver who is customer centric. During our busiest season throughout Spring and Summer you can expect to work 60+ hours a week with up to two overnights per week. Be prepared to assist in other tasks when not driving.
