About the role:
With the assistance of the Shift Supervisor & the Home delivery coordinator, the Operations Manager is responsible for co-ordinating the metro loading, delivery and associated planning of the general metro, bulk and Home delivery freight within the depot daily.This is a very hands on Role and not office bound. Time Management is crucial with local and Regional Travel Required
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure 100% of trucks depart at the required time, and linehaul freight is moved to agreed schedules.
- 98% or better linehaul and metro function scanning results
- Ensure Metro truck utilisation is maximised on each run and daily plans for second cycles/two runs per day are in place where applicable
- 96% or better DIFOT results across all Metro/general transport deliveries, 75% or higher Home delivery NPS score average
- Ensure inwards freight is delivered free from damage and in full quantity.
- Ensuring that all collection times and line haul despatch times are monitored and recorded for reporting to Fliway customers.
- Ensuring that weekly meetings are held with key operational staff with minutes and action points highlighted.
- Ensure that all damage information is captured and reported to claims and customer services.
- Plan and maintain own workload and work effectively
- Presenting KPI's and discussing variances.
- Servicing and COF's are completed to a timetable.
- Completing monthly reports for RUC purchasing and vehicle servicing, COF and registration reports.
- Establish effective operating plans and oversee the implementation of operating plans
- Continually seek areas of service and operational improvement
- Provide Fliway with an optimum return on investment through utilisation and/or cost control.
- Ensure all functions are performed in a safe manner and in accordance with the company's health and safety policy, rules and guidelines.

What you Bring:
- Prior Transport Operations Knowledge with multiple delivery modes;
- Strong Leadership and Team Engagement.
- Strong Focus on Health and Safety.
- Customer and Supplier Relationships
- Bulk/General/HD Previous Transport operations or dispatch experience preferable.
- MHE function awareness
- Forklift Licence "F" endorsed
- Excellent listening skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Good numerical and analytical ability Excellent problem solving ability
- Computer literate - Microsoft Office Knowledge of FME (advantageous), E-road
- Strong Decision-making skills
- Class 2 License ( Advantageous )
